I was having an insightful conversation with a friend, colleague and business mentor today. My book was uploaded to Kindle this afternoon through the help of this wise soul. Her knowledge and know-how have proven to be not only inspirational but invaluable. The information one needs to know about promoting a book is overwhelming especially to the uninitiated. Unfortunately that is me. I, up to this point, have no had no language for this new publishing society with the cyberspace embedded ‘this’ and the reformatting ‘that’.
I still am totally uneducated and under-educated in this department however it’s been an interesting class. It has been necessary discipline, however I am impatiently clambering for the keyboard to write the next installment in this series. For me, it’s the playful words which color the images I intuit and the meaning behind and around the words which inspires me. The day to day left-brained filing and editing not so much.
During our conversation, working on the internet from different locations, we branched our conversation to more personal matters. It was fun as it helped fill the moments waiting for sites to upload information. She shared with me her triumphs and tragedies, her losses and gains. Words and images began to fill my mind of her various chapters, the story becoming even clearer.
“Your life has been filled with shattered glass which has become the stained glass windows into your soul”, I said to her. No one’s life is completely easy or without pain. No one is exempt from challenges and change, give and take, love and loss. However it’s how we deal with it which makes the difference. She was exemplary in this department. Never was there a shred of victim or martyr mentality in her story, never any ‘woe is me.’ What a beautiful angel in how she recreated her story. I share this as a re-framing-moment. When your mind does the stuck-in-past-cycle it’s inclined to do, visualize the past memories’ colored tiles, as an opportunity to piece together the broken shards into beautiful and graceful images. Recreate them into the worthy, illuminating, and deeply insightful stained glass window of your life.
We went back to discussing business, the book, publishing and the next project. However the image she left in my mind didn’t leave. It’s indelibly etched into my consciousness, giving me the tools to color, etch, glue and mold my own glass window.
May your life’s stained glass continue to shine, illustrate and glow with your inner beauty!!
Cosmic sunshine to you.
What a lovely read this was Candia. Thank you!
