“Camping with the Adams Family”

Unfortunately over the weekend we stayed in a shared camping site. The Arizona “Fools Hollow” campground, one of the nicest in the state, has spacious shaded sites and is highly prized by people from Phoenix/ Scottsdale escaping the high heat of the valley. Therefore it is completely reserved. Being unseasoned in the ways of RVing, we just pulled into the campground without reservations. Due to this we were put into a shared site. We’ve been camping next to the Brady Bunch\Adams family for three days.

The back slide-out of our camper was a foot away from their picnic table. Our side slide was a foot away from their trailer. Needless to say the living quarters were dormitory style. Or city style, you choose. They had five children. Their baby cried incessantly from the moment he woke up, to minutes before he went to sleep. I have to admit, and I do love children, that by the end of the second day, I was becoming a bit cranky. We were gone most of the time during the day exploring, hiking and seeing the area, however the mornings and evenings were filled with demanding children and a crying baby.

This is where I have to admit, keeping my boundaries in tact was paramount. I “tuned” into the baby as I knew something was physically wrong for him to be crying most of his waking state. My senses were correct in determining he was reacting to the foods, the typical every day, garden-variety-garbage parents feed their children today. Some kids can handle it, others cannot. This little guy, around 18 months, fit into the latter category. His digestive system was a mess. I could see very clearly the foods he needed to have eliminated and the foods his parents should be focusing on. At 6:30 this morning, I had a list ready to hand to the mother. This is where I had to stop myself.

Again, this is where it is difficult for me. I can see and sense things clearly, misalignments, blockages, emotional merry-go-rounds, food sensitivities, meridian imbalances, fears. When it comes to children, it’s very difficult for me to not jump in and say something to the parents. Of course this is totally inappropriate. This is where boundaries are essential. Remembering my place, what’s appropriate and what-is-not, is vital.

I have known psychics who have, in kindness, offered up information that I hadn’t asked anything about. It was offensive. I have made it a priority to never do that to others. It’s not my place to tell anyone information or what to do unless asked. However, it is difficult when it comes to someone’s health I know I can help. Especially children. This little guy was definitely uncomfortable and in pain.

Having clear boundaries is a very vital tool for staying healthy. It keeps our energy in alignment with our higher selves at the same time not allowing others negative energies into our space. It helps us to say yes and no at the most important times. It keeps us in the flow.

We moved campsites this morning to a single. I think we are finally bonified with the campground as we have now been here a week waiting on truck parts from California. It’s a large, quiet space with room for our cat Tao to climb trees and chase geckos. No crying babies, no herd of kids or complaining, irritated cussing moms. Whew! I’m proud of myself as I kept quiet even when I heard one mom tell her child to f#€king stop doing something. Not cool.
