“Minimalize: Change Your Life, Pursue Your Desires”

All is perfect with the world, even when it appears otherwise. Actually believing it is, is the hardest part of the equation. It’s easier to be in the whirlpool of spinning down the duality drain, caught in the rush of commercialism, more verses less, and “keeping up with the Jones’, than seeing the beauty and magic before us. In truth we have everything we require; we just need to recognize this truth.

I literally just returned home. After pairing life down the last several months to the minimum, I truly recognized what I need in the simplest of life’s daily requirements to make me internally happy. It sure isn’t about all the collected stuff, debris, gadgets, clothing and even art. Traveling in a camper, not even an RV or motor home, but a home on our backs, was an incredible opportunity to encounter new people, see gorgeous country, experience sunshine in the spring (what a concept, right?) which honed in the organized daily specifics of life, in this case, on the road. It’s a beautiful metaphor though for seeing life through a minimalist’s lens.

Simplifying is calming. It’s liberating not being burdened with things which demand time, attention, cleaning, servicing and maintenance. We are caught on this ever revolving cycle to consume more, buy new, buy more, buy now. Whew! It’s tiring. Billions are spent convincing us to buy into this programming. Marketing 101 at its finest. The good news is, if you commit to minimalizing, simplifying your habits, as that’s truly what we are dealing with- habits-, then you have the grand opportunity to clearly see what is vital, important and magnificent.

Living in a camper for two months, there literally is little room to buy a bunch of unnecessary “stuff”as there is no storage. I purchased only what we required. ~ We did collect rocks from different locales and stored them in the cat carrier as it was one of the defunct items we brought. It was a learning curve on necessities. ~ But that’s what life is about in bigger terms; learning about what is necessary and what is superfluous and cluttering. The physical clutter builds stress, mayhem and mental chaos as it overwhelms and burdens the easy, more simplified life.

I would strongly urge you to utilize summer as a great window for discarding what you don’t need. Consider, after discarding the first go- round, another purging. Every time you do, examine all the stories within; why did you buy this? What was intended for? Are there happy memories? With each cleansing, each purge, you feel lighter in spirit, happier emotionally as it frees you to pursue your inner delights. Summer “physical cleanses” are a super partnership to enhance the process emotionally, mentally and spiritually, an added complimentary, cherry-on-top bonus for setting your world in balance.

By the way, I began cleaning the camper gearing it for future adventures. I also began the process of removing, clearing, discarding “stuff” and personal photos in our home. It’s going on the market; I have a realtor coming Friday. We are truly minimalizing.

Cosmic sunshine to you.

Are you thinking about maybe living in a tiny home? I started downsizing over a year ago and it is liberating! I have a different respective about life now. Most people work to pay for their cars, go to work, but clothes for work so they can pay for their large houses they sleep in so they can repeat this ritual again. I don’t call that fun at all. It’s bondage!
