One in three people will get or are already close to cancer. Flipping-ass huge stats. In a supposed western progressive, educated stable country, we are pretty darn far from being a healthy nation. In fact, our cancer rates continue to soar. I know, as my mom, my sister-in-law, my first cousin and my husband all have had some fast-running form of cancer coursing through their bodies. It sucks big time.
The truth is, cancer grows in an acidic environment, a climate of inflammation. Most of the ills we deal with are caused by these issues-acidity and inflammation. For whatever reason though, most don’t put together what they put in their mouths is a large part of the issue, as in my husband, dealing with stage four prostate and small cell cancer. Drinking those extra cups of coffee as an example continue to add to the overall acidity of his body coupled with specific foods that are known inflammation creators. Thus, cancer has the ability to spread.
However, the positive results and changes for a loved one’s health and even your own can improve greatly if you’re willing to remove, toss, eliminate and get rid of certain foods in your diet. Here’s a powerful list of what not to eat if you’re dealing with a disease or low immune health:
Anything artificial- sweetness, creamers etc. if it sounds weird don’t ingest it.
Anything white: sugar, potatoes, bread, pasta, rice – it all breaks down into acidic sugars, spiking blood sugar levels.
Cashews, pistachios, peanuts, Brazil nuts: acid forming. Peanuts especially can be high in fungus. Huge allergens.
Coffee as discussed. Limit to one cup with added organic butter or cream. (Look up Bullet Proof Coffee.)
Cow’s milk, cheese, dairy products.
Energy drinks: they deplete the adrenal glands.
Fast foods: bye bye Macs and all those other horrible processed foods.
Gluten based products: (READ ALL LABELS.) Wheat, oats, rye, barley.
Margarine: read number “one:” nothing artificial.
Mayonnaise: made with sugar and soybeans, high in fat.
Mushrooms: fungi and have too many pesticides, insecticides. Can aggravate fungal issues.
Oranges, tangerines: high in sugary acid.
Pickles: acidic and or sugary.
Pizza: Difficult yes, but it’s wheat/glutin, tomatoes, high high in calories and breaks down into sugar. Number one food choice yet it contributes to cancer, diabetes, heart issues and obesity.
Processed meats: loaded with chemicals and acidic in nature already. Yes, that does mean hotdogs, turkey lunch meat, ham and sausages.
Red Meats: huge acid contributors in human bodies.
Sodas, pop, carbonated drinks.
Soy anything: sauce, beans, processed soy. Most are gmos, create hormonal issues and don’t process well in the body. Yes, it’s inflammation forming.
Sugar, candy, cakes. Sugar is extremely acid producing as well as lowers your immune system within 35 seconds.
Sugary cereals- well that’s a given!!
Tomatoes, juice, sauce. Yes I know we love the Mediterranean diet, however tomatoes are acid producing, thus those sores in your mouth from eating too many. They are also part of the “Nightshade” group of food known as poisonous in some circles.
Vinegars-all types. Doesn’t take a food scientist to know they’re very acidic.
Vodka, whiskey, gin, etc, even beer. Especially beer if dealing with prostate issues or cancer!
This is extremely doable, changing up what we eat, due to the many incredible choices available as new healthy substitutes, from vegetable pasta to hemp milk, to chia, dark leafy greens to local honey.
Truth is, we have options that weren’t even available a decade ago. We have the ability to be healthy by making the best daily choices. To me it’s easy: health and energy or illness and disease. The choices become even easier when given the alternative.
