I’ve been told since I was quite young I’m an old soul. But that’s not true. I’ve too many opinions, desires and straight-up, just too damn much “fire” to be old. I love wild adventure, pushing the envelope, questioning always seeking new truth, knowledge, awareness and insights, and unbridled passion in relationships. These are not Old Soul characteristics. Those that truly are of the “Old Soul” status are but very few on earth at this time. Honestly, in some ways, they could be considered boring. They are those deep kindly quiet souls that support, love, and just know. No ruckus, judgements, opinions. They know that everything is perfect the way it is and aren’t here to fight the status quo or get uppity about right is wrong and left is right. Old Souls give love from the Light within. They’re here to support the whole of humanity through their higher vibrations and gentle caring natures. They’re the Holy Man or Woman who say nothing and offer us the options and choices to make our own best decisions.

What of all the individuals offering up guidance and service and of course, opinions, coupled with tons of valuable information? What of their knowledge? I know a lot of people in this category. They are the Mature Souls who have learned through their experiences, sharing their stories, offering guidance and counsel, expanding consciously through the millennia. Mature souls are in Cosmic University having gained a great deal of insight along the road, yet still young, full of piss and vinegar, wanting to explore, adventure and sail the high seas of love, knowledge, questioning, seeking always gaining insight to add to their arsenals. And remember in college there are four years, or levels to get through to move onward. There are many in this category today, from freshmen to seniors on their soul education. Look at the self help book section to see the long list of strong capable souls. Then there are the infant souls, young souls and teenager souls. Imagine getting through kindergarten, grade school, middle, JR high, high school, four years of undergrad, graduate and PHD’s. And post education. The journey of evolution.

And the populace? If we were to observe how deep people explore, care, question, make good choices and decisions about love, sex, behavior, empathy, being of service, offering a hand to others ~kindness~ it’s easy to see where a soul is on their journey through the galleries and galaxies of time. Grade school, the excitement, playful curiosity and enthusiasm of learning and putting together the rudiments and building blocks of social awareness. Junior high with all the cattiness and squabbles and going through huge self esteem growing pains combined with discernment over truths. High school with power packs and social alliances, exploring sexuality, individuality juxtaposed with group consciousness, following the crowd and institutional requirements based on what what’s expected: acceptance versus rebelliousness. To college, discovering deeper commitments and sexual intimacy, working hard to make something of themselves or partying their asses off forgetting who they are. Masters where experience combined with knowledge helps builds bridges of awareness for the good of others. PHD’s where sharing the knowledge is more important than the prestige and ego aggrandizement, to post graduate where being, acceptance and love are the mainstays, the bread and daily butter of human development.

Best part, if there is understanding or even partial recognition of where a soul is on their cosmic path, then the concept of unconditional love, empathy and forgiveness is easier for us to give to those less developed. Wisely said by Jesus, “Forgive them for they know not what they do.” Some souls just don’t have the experience and/or growth yet to operate and live from a place of grace, as they are young in their internal beingness. You can’t expect the same behavior and response from a grade schooler as expected from a college grad. Thus it is with humanity.

Coming from this space of understanding and observation makes a huge difference in perspective of our wildly crazy, diverse, entertaining and wonderful human condition.

It’s the way of our ever evolving species.
