Oh the dating game. Isn’t it a joy? In less than ten seconds we base our future on a quick flick of a finger, swipe left. That small movement actually has a projectory that changes our timeline. It’s essentially a choice that says no, this isn’t what I desire, what I want. Every single day, every single minute, we have the ability to make choices, good or marginal, super or horrific simply by changing our minds. Swiping left. Or right.
We always have a choice.
Essentially we are in charge of our own well-being, and happiness, being flatlined, or totally unengaged. Life, joy, laughter, success, vitality – it’s something we have to participate in, wrap our hearts and minds around and recognize we are that person on the other side of the cell phone, that Tinder app, who has the power to swipe left, in other words say ~ no thank you ~ or right, saying, “Hell yes! You betcha! I’m in,” on just about anything and everything. Most instead believe they’re in the ‘damn app’ stuck in vertigo with no abilities to maneuver, waiting for that next person to give the thumbs up or down, hopefully swiping right to keep them in the game. For the mug-shot player this is obviously a real power-grabber, their valuable energy and dynamism stolen by not taking charge of their own lives, not staying out of the application.
Exploring the concept of Tinder a bit closer, it has definitely a bad rap as a hook-up dating site, probably for good reason. Okay fine, not my cup of tea, but for someone else? Could be what they think they need at the moment, not my place to judge. If we metaphorically apply that to life, hooking-up with different adventures, experiences, education, awesome people and loving relationships, literally hooking-into-great-happenings, simply means we are enhancing our lives. That’s a powerful application.
Of course the choice is ours to use wisely. To hook-up with no thought of consequence or deeper perception? Or utilize the better option to choose more discriminately and discerningly? On everything. As Lucifer says with great disgust and derision on the Fox TV series, “Is this truly what you’re choosing to do with the rest of your life?”
Each day ask ourselves, “Does this application empower or disempower me? Do I feel better because of my choice, my swipe left or right?” These important questions have the ability to keep us centered and balanced in our happy love boat space, that place on Tinder we are hoping to nail down. Oh! I did say that didn’t I? 😈
And honestly aren’t dating sites really about finding love, that perfect current person to share our stories? Even for those serial daters and haters, it’s what makes the world spin, have gravity, and slide through the cosmos. Love. ❤️
That’s life in a nutshell. Or should I say, app.
Here’s to making your swipes meaningful, relevant and heartfelt.
Cosmic sunshine to you.
