Spring-time. Sunshine, happiness, movement. Fresh beginnings, like new buds shooting through the soul. (auto-correct, “soul” was to be soil. Did it twice. Perfect, right?) Cupid and Pan’s love arrows shooting through our hearts, our souls. How does falling-in-love with your partner again, sound? Very spring-like-exciting. Romantic. Falling-in-love, period? Falling-in-love with life? Have you thought about it? Maybe it’s time for a romance-reboot!
What I’ve learned, when I decide to really focus on whatever my goals are, my desires, in this case, LOVE, they begin to take form, shape and happen like magic before my eyes. I have also learned to recognize where my desires are incongruous with old, tightly-held, beliefs from various experiences over the course of my life, which can create the opposite ineffectual results. And therein lies the disconnect between our desires and hopeful outcomes – the inconsistencies inside ourselves. The important life-changing recipe is seeing, acknowledging and feeling where the emotional obsolescent rubbish is buried and what it has to teach us. Not always a fun prospect when it’s incredibly revealing.
I’ll offer an example. I’m writing, focusing on all these great, wonderful, awesome, loving things I desire in my relationship, when I had this “aha,” realization, this very loud, “oh shit” moment. I’ve always desired to be loved and valued for who I am, as I am, whether I was twenty something or now decades later. My kick-my-butt-across-the-room reality check was, “but I don’t always love them for who they are, wanting to “improve” them on some level, fix their ailments, heal their sorrows.” Holy Hello! To have that reflected back to me, I have to embody it. This is honestly a challenge for me as the healer, the intuitive, always seeing the bigger picture. My lesson is to step back, be that, do that, love them with all their weirdness, (as if I’m normal) their silly childlike behaviors, quirks and glitches and lack of decorum. Arrggg. But it’s universal law, so I’d better get over myself really quickly.
To have the relationships we desire we have to be All we want in someone else, to be their incredible mirror. Now this doesn’t mean you have to be an accountant if you’re an artist. No, this is about those inner values we hold near and dear that we want – desire – deeply in our lives. We have to see and do and feel and act and BELIEVE the same way we desire to be treated and loved.
That’s why, when people ask me, are they ever going to meet “that” partner, it’s a wake-up call to themselves to look within, to see what needs spring-cleaning, removed and improved. Old emotional broken-down antiques. Interior junk respectively.
If you’re ready for some kick-ass revitalization, a “Springtime Romance-with-Love-and-Life-Reboot” and need assistance clearing out the schmutz, perhaps it’s time for that spring appointment.
Utilize spring cleaning as a great metaphor for emotional laundering and clarifying. It feels great both inside and out. I send you the best cleaning detergents, gloves, brooms, dust-busters and garbage bags to collect the emotional debris.
Cosmic romantic sunshine.
