‘Top Three Tools for Holiday Stress’

It’s a beautiful December day, clear, cold, crisp and a bit windy. We have been fortunate we’ve had as much sunshine as we have in November and now into December. It’s very uplifting for the spirit.

I know I’m not alone in being excited for 2014. It means there is a positive shifting energy as we all collectively move to a different vibration and frequency. 2013 has been a very challenging year for many, including myself. Even with all of the tools, recipes, and remedies I know personally, I have had to work diligently at staying centered, balanced and fearless. I have great empathy for those who don’t have coping skills as they move through high stress. Without them I’m sure it feels like being caught in a chaotic vortex or whirlpool of uneasiness and ungrounded fear.

This year my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, went through surgery and radiation. My favorite cat was killed. I became electro/magnetically sensitive to computers, cell phones and iPads. My dad went into the hospital and came home on hospice. He definitely was talking to St. Peter, however he decided he really wasn’t in the mood for conversation. And the last big one came as the real shock; my husband was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer that has moved into his hips, back, spine and right femur. He went in for anabiotic’s, had a blood test and was handed this new diagnosis. It was a giant shock!. Now you understand my high stress. For me the holidays look placid, inviting and exciting. I love the thought of having happy events on my calendar.

The holidays are for many, stressful times. There are too many things on the calendar, platters full of expectations and obligations. Coping skills, calming techniques and full-on organization make the difference.

Stress and crisis are usually formed and created from some type of shock. Once we are able to shift past the initial blast, we have the ability to reassess, take stock of the situation and form a path of action. Cool. However maintaining calm and peaceful in body, mind and soul is the determining factor in overall outcome. It can be a challenge. I know from direct personal experience.

I would like to share a few of my most valuable tips for coping with stress that might prove beneficial during the most hectic month of the year.

**Mantras. I learned, when my mind is the most cluttered, stressed and out of control, I will say a mantra over and over to get my fear-driven thoughts out of the ‘red’ and back in ‘black’. (ACDC really did have something when they coined that song 😉 )”With every breath (Yes and now I’m quoting ‘Sting’ 😉 )and every step I am….” You choose, however you can use, “happy, healthy and peaceful”. Or, “Vital, magnetic, optimistic, powerful, balanced,” etc. You get the idea. I feel keeping them short and simple is best when your mind is overloaded. They work on multiple levels.

**Food. Yep, food plays a Significant role in times of stress. We are moving into a high caloric, month-long-festival, sugar density being at the top of the list. Actually, eating the opposite will regulate stress: eat more protein to stabilize the bodily systems, avoiding sugars at all costs. You’ll feel better, have higher energy and will be able to navigate the high demands of the season. I know, it’s not as much fun, however on another level, you’ll be on top of your game.

**Hugs. Now, isn’t this a fun one, especially with all the mistletoe. It’s been proven, if two people hold each other in a loving embrace for over a minute while gently and deeply breathing, it is equivalent to the magic endorphin high from an orgasm. Your brain takes in the emotions and releases a rush of good tidings to the body. How fantastic is that?

Of course keep your schedule organized; it’ll make your life smoother and you happier.

So eat better, talk to yourself and hug everyone you can. Even if others think you’re nuts, everyone benefits. Stress loads come down and everyone has the good fortune of happy attitudes. And we all know “Attitude is Everything!”

Happy hugging holidays!

Cosmic sunshine to you!

All best wishes to you and your family.
Let me know if I can support you both during the months ahead.

    • Richard, thank you so much for your support and wonderful offer of help and assistance. I so appreciate you and Julia. Thank you again for your your kindness in sharing your book and grounding essence. I really liked your material and photographic demonstrations. I know it’s what’s needed for my office, but to be honest with you, I have not had time to even focus on it. Between my dad and now Dale there hasn’t been a lot of extra time for me.

Thanks again Richard for being wonderful and caring you! You were awesome and I’m grateful you are in my life! Have a wonderful Solstice celebration!

      Hugs, Candia
