I worked hard over the weekend. It was awesome! I love my job. One of the reoccurring themes in the sessions was lack of fun, stress, and feeling tired. When things continually show up, I know it’s a message from the universe to assess my life as well. In other words, I have a reading from the readings.
When my husband was diagnosed in late November with terminal cancer, given three months to three years to live, the fun in our lives went out the door. Our lives since October have been filled with perpetual doctors appointments, check ups and a steady stream of alternative therapies. It’s been a high stress diet of worry, fatigue, Nazi diets, and hours of me working on him. Even with all I know to be true, it still takes its toll on a persons’s emotional, mental and physical bodies. Thank God I know Magic as otherwise I’d be bottomed out from the stress.
To be honest, I wouldn’t have even been able to spell “fun” yet alone offer a simply definition a couple of months ago. We are not out of the weeds yet, however in February, the cancerous tumor was completely gone -in two and a half months/ three months time, the prostate was back to normal and the pain in his back from the cancer also gone. Pretty fantabulous! It has allowed us breathing room to consider relaxing and moving forward.
In dealing with cancer or other life threatening diseases, it sucks the literal life force out of everyone in the orbit of its spin. Life no longer carries the sparkle and the shine. Finding balance and a guiding light is also difficult for so many in these life crises. It’s just plain-ass not fun. For those in the outer atmosphere who have no point of reference, it’s difficult to understand the gravity of what you’re experiencing, both as the patient or the caregiver.
Don’t you just love the symbology of someone who is ill being called “the patient”? Imagine “being patient” as an alternative thought. If we were to learn from the secret yet direct analogy, to be “patient” with yourself, the process and the universe, allows the reasons and implications of the dis-ease to filter into awareness and consciousness. Then we have the ability to embrace the gift and change the physiology of the cells. But most do not want to dig that deep, it’s too much work and exceptionally revealing of the personality.
With our news of being in total remission, the doctors are astounded!!! – we are planning fun things on our calendar once again. It’s far too easy to become embroiled in the chaos and not see beyond the windows. This is true even for those not dealing with illness. Individuals get lost in the emotional fog of relationships, career struggles, financial worries, family dramas, you name it. Fun isn’t in the dictionary. Yet I believe it is one of the greatest gifts we are given; the ability to enjoy, relax, laugh, participate, and discover. It’s about loving what is before us, finding the humor and playing along the way.
And one of the best gifts is in the recognition of the presents given with every event, change, illness and chapter. My husband for example is a better, kinder, gentler man due to his cancer. It’s taught him much on so many levels of perception. He now appreciates “fun” in new ways, breathing deeply daily laughter and distributing love and friendship to those he encounters.
So have fun, fill the calendar with simple joys and stunning adventures. Rewrite your own definition and write it in your personal dictionary. When you do, your brain remembers and motivates you forward to make it happen.
Here’s to meeting somewhere out there on the “fun” highway of life, out of the orbit of cancer and stress.
Cosmic sunshine to you.
