You know those difficult people in your life, the ones that either piss you off, cause inner turmoil and pain, create chaos, strife and or are old flames and relationships gone south? Those individuals. The ones where hurt is still visible and perhaps raw. These are our best challenges, our best gifts.

For me honestly, I’ve never shied from a good argument, a reasonable fight. I actually admire a worthy advisory. Yet in truth, I love relationships – life – to be copesetic, easy, enjoyable…loving. I’ve been hurt multiple times along the road, yet I feel fortunate the wounds have healed, the hurts dissolved, relationships regained and renewed.

The reason I believe they are our best gifts is they represent opportunities within ourselves to shift, grow and focus on unconditional love. Even when you’re too angry and hurt, “love” the most remote emotion in your vocabulary, has an opportunity to re-enter once those negative emotions cool down. Even if you have to turn it over to Divine Source to do the loving for you, it’s still the first step in the reversal of fortune. It’s the portal into cosmic love, Christ-consciousness. 

From experience, repeatedly, recurrently, people soften when unconditional love is sent their direction. Relationships flourish instead of withering. Marriages regain momentum, friendships are renewed. Relationships are given opportunities never afforded if anger, jealousy, resentment, hurt, betrayal and all the other nasty human emotions, hang in the ethers. Life is too short to waste on superfluous squabbles, and bothersome and petty demeaning behaviors. It truly is a short spin on the planet. Why waste your valuable ticket? 

Unconditional love has no expectations, no demands, no barriers. It’s just freely given for anything – even the most vile of actions. It’s truly the only way of change possible.  It takes time. Perhaps decades, even lifetimes, however it will change for the best, the loving connections, those soul contracts. There will be those whose hearts are closed no matter what. It’s because they themselves are not happy within and don’t feel safe, or valuable, or worthy or are too hurt to see beyond the clouds. Do not stop, do not doubt. But it takes commitment from self, your inner most part of you, to make the  necessary effort into feeling ~ Believing ~ in “unconditional love.” To send it forth with no expectation other than the warm feeling you receive inside your heart, knowing your positive acts are rippling the waves of the universe, is the best reward.

Because they are. The fabric of the cosmos is sparkled with love. And yours only makes it more colorful, more vibrant, radiant in it’s illuminosity.
