I was in this fabulous convo this weekend with opinions in opposite camps about the organization and construct of the universe vs complete random construction/destruction. It was good. Not sure if we ever agreed on the final version?

A great friend, sharp, witty, insightful, self deprecating and willing to see every side of an issue, surprised me with her belief the world could be, might be, all-signs-point-to-a-blistering-inferno, probably is, an inherently chaotic destructive force, unordered and random and heading for the no-win-zone. Whoa! Totally took me by surprise. Well with all the global barrage of overwhelming negativity it’s easy to hop-on-that-train heading to hell. I on the other hand, no surprise here, feel completely opposite.

I’ll offer my perspective.

How I explained it was this. Imagine the earth – different than a world view right? The world is an environment filled with seven plus billion inhabitants which ironically is a great thing. We couldn’t raise the level of awareness without the high number of contributing souls. It’s physics, it’s math. Back to the earth. The earth in its magically perfectly designed trip around the sun is anchored in this heavenly cosmic grand orbit, centered around a central character, the sun, with all these strong supportive actor planets in full swing on the elliptical. Add in the bonus of our solar system enmeshed in the Milky Way galaxy in the middle of a zillion other galaxies in the universal dance of a million other universes. How flipping off the charts is this? Chaotic? Not even close. Amazingly orchestrated with divine grace, a deft hand and immense creative liberties, Absolutely. The emotional turf wars and seeming worldly chaos is created on the planet’s surface by you guessed it, you and me, us in all our grand wisdom and glory. Remove us, we remove the illusion. Bigger truth is this. Even in what appears to be chaos, bullshit, negativity, you name it, there is always a hidden story, an agenda, a cosmic blueprint of immense proportions that keeps everything aligned in its perfection. I marvel at the complexities.

We can take the grand view, the macro out of the cosmos and drop it down to the micro, to our own personal stories and dramas and life blueprints. For me everything has a purpose a season a plan. Everything is for us, supporting us. Even with our free-will capabilities, maybe even more so.

I love the justice, the balance. The magic.

A neighbor was a rather shady attorney, arrogant, narracistic, self centered and quite egotistically male. Women were there for what he needed. Period. No respect. He’d get crooks out on loopholes, men who raped free on technicalities. Bad karma in some circles.  Essentially there was zero self reflection. He just kept making money adding to his empire to expand his castle. As divine order would have it, he and his short term girlfriend at the time got pregnant with…wait for it, a daughter. How beautifully perfect is that? Some of these hee-haws out on bail, these rapers, cons and derelicts he’d released  were now on his personal radar. I recall several events when he was truly scared and fearful of robbery, blackmail and personal injury. Some bad shit did transpire in a neighborhood where nothing traumatic happened. They were fairly major turning events. He had to shift, change his perspective, his direction, how he treated others, how he viewed the world. He now had to be vigilant about His daughter. How divinely orchestrated is that? The universe slapped him out of complicity and into insightful productivity. I Love how the path cleared for him to proceed more wisely, directing him back to center. Chaotic or divinely organized?

Another man who had been quite the womanizer in his life seducing well over a hundred plus women obviously working within a Don Juan archetype, was also given the gift of a daughter who is now dating men who’d been like him. He’s seeing her get her heart broken by young men with similar behaviors to his. This is Universal balancing of the emotional *sexperiential scales offering wisdom and ops for some self reflection, deeper internal growth and healthy emotional clearing. Essentially respect for the feminine within and without.  Awareness and empathy are a positive byproduct from both sides of the experience: each individual gains from how the other feels. Because of the blood tie, the love-bond, they can see it (it being the story, the dialogue) through the other’s eyes even more clearly than through a girlfriend/boyfriend experience. Loving buddy soul pals, in both cases the father/daughter dynamic, stepping up to play their parts for emotional expansion. Everyone wins.

A woman who as a young teenager was sexually and emotionally harassed by her stepdad, married three times, had four children, went through some horrendously challenging times losing a son, had breast cancer, an ex-husband going to jail on rape charges, (who was playing out the final chapter of the stepfather) finally said “Enough,” stopped the drain-train, got off and switched to another track. She looked at all the events in her life, saw her part in them, the role of being at the end of the whip instead of holding the handle, grabbed it hard and changed her direction. Tired of playing the victim to a series of randomly appearing events she took charge to claim her destiny. She learned from the tipped scales. She saw the value of the ride, the wealth of people in her life, the value in herself. She changed her focus, connected with an old flame. They are now happily married, her fourth and final. She laid claim to her own happiness not in spite of but because of the sorrows and conflict and pain with a nod of gratitude to the support of all the leading actors in her play. She tossed her Victim archetype in the closet and locked the door.

Each one of the people who played their parts with aplomb and panache in these examples of the Grand Cosmic Play did so with conviction and superb acting skills. Each one supports the other’s master plan. It’s elegant and magical and intricately woven. They’re excellent examples of ordered cosmic mechanics in what could appear to be random events. Willing participants signed up to help each other grow and love and learn and expand. Not random or chaotic, just a free-will planet where we get to get dirty till we learn to stand under the cosmic “aha” waterfall. Where we learn by examples and mistakes. Three steps forward, one step back. We get better, improve expand. A lovingly designed ordered universe completely supporting our journeys, encouraging us moment by moment to be our best and get our shit together.

That’s my version anyway.
