“Your Core ~ What’s At the Heart of Things”

For the holidays, I presented the family what I deemed were our core values, artistically arranged onto soft canvas. I feel it reflects the vital thoughts and beliefs of merging three families together, brought down succinctly into four sweet sentences. It made me reflect and truly identify what it is that has held us together through some of our greatest challenges ~ job changes, emotional insecurities, teenagers, college\empty-nesting, relationship break-ups, financial struggles, past karma, former spouses, former lovers, death and loss, and now cancer.

Listening recently again to Martin Luther King’s speech, “I have a dream,” where he speaks to that core belief within all of us, to go the extra mile, reach deep, and rise above, our hearts identify with the dream and seek to meet him. I feel that’s when we are at our best. Identifying our core beliefs and dreams, finding others who feel the same, combining our strengths and talents to make a difference. Core values\beliefs. They are what is at the ‘Heart of Things.’

Have you ever truly taken time to identify your core-centered beliefs, that no matter what, are always there for you, even in your darkest moments? Now is the perfect time if you haven’t. Perhaps it’s time to freshen them up, bring them to the light of day, re-examine them and hold them close. Maybe, you’ll even discover some of these deeply held beliefs are no longer valid or necessary. It’s like spring cleaning of the heart. By letting dusty beliefs dissipate and disappear, greater gifts will take their place, now the space has been cleared. Begin each sentence with “I believe” to make it bold and solid within your heart.

I Believe…..
I believe in Cosmic order, Divine Wisdom, Guidance, Universal Laws, Spiritual Truths.
I believe in timeless, never~ending love.
I believe Love changes everything, all beings, all substances, all universes, always and forever.
I believe there is Light in all creatures, all beings, all universes.
I believe we have forgotten our Light and need to find the switch, the key.
I believe we can discover this Light and change the world.
I believe we all have the divine right to love and be loved.
I believe we are all uniquely designed.
I believe we have the ability to be healthy, wise and rich: rich in family, friends and adventure.
I believe in the wonder and innocence of children.
I believe each individual is special.
I believe in truth, even if it doesn’t follow the status quo.
I believe in honesty.
I believe in comedy.
I believe in finding the humor in our hearts.
I believe laughter is essential for vitality.
I believe in loving, sustaining relationships.
I believe family is our essence, our roots, for growing in each lifetime.
I believe we can move beyond our genetic predispositions.
I believe we can all be healthy.
I believe animals have heart and souls and are here to teach us.
I believe in mutual heart-centered friendships.
I believe we can overcome adversity.
I believe every day offers us the chance to be better human beings.
I believe in gratitude for the riches bestowed in our lives.
I believe in earth-shattering great sex, that knocks your socks off.
I believe in long, wet, deep kisses that curl your toes and makes your heart skip.
I believe in chemistry between elements, most importantly between individuals.
I believe life is great.
I believe war is unnecessary no matter what propaganda is generated.
I believe in free will.
I believe we all responsible.
I believe in using our amazing brains combined with heart centered balance.
I believe when our bodies die, we live forever, in multiple spheres and universes.
I believe we are all connected.
I believe in dreams.
I believe in you.
I believe in me.
